Description

With simple ingredients and a few minutes of time, you can learn how to make alfredo sauce with half and half. Even though it’s a bit healthier, this easy alfredo sauce recipe is just as decadent and creamy as it would be with heavy cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cup grated pecorino romano cheese (or parmesan)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour to form a roux.
  3. Slowly whisk in half and half. Increase heat to medium high and cook until half and half has thickened (about 5-6 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Add salt and pecorino romano cheese, whisk until cheese has melted and sauce smooth.
