1 pound ground spicy Italian sausage (casings removed if needed) 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 3 garlic cloves (minced (about 1 tablespoon)) 2 tablespoons tomato paste 1 15- ounce can crushed tomatoes 2 teaspoons dried basil 2 cups chicken stock 2 cups water 1 16- ounce package fusilli Fresh parsley (for garnish)
In a large dutch oven over medium high heat, brown the sausage.
Once the sausage is cooked through, stir in minced garlic, tomato paste and red pepper flakes.
Add crushed tomatoes, chicken stock, water, pasta and basil.
Cover and bring to a boil.
Lower heat and simmer until pasta is tender.
